The freedom of speech guarantees of our Constitution prevent your suggested response to John Dean's appearances--and we all benefit from the greater good of those guarantees. Unfortunately, both Bob Haldeman and John Ehrlichman are not only dead, but went to their graves not understanding the full extent of Dean's treachery.

That said, there are plenty of sources that now document Dean's wrongdoings: Hidden Agenda by Jim Hougan (1984) and Silent Coup by Len Colodny (1991) both have been out for years--but two more were published in 2008: The Strong Man by James Rosen and my own The Secret Plot. Last month, Colodny's The Forty Years War was added to this list.

The problem is not that the material is unavailable, it is that the Main Stream Media does not find such revelations newsworthy. Our hopes remain with the historians--and continued disclosures of materials from National Archive files on the Watergate Special Prosecution Force.

Due to the nature of his controversial role in the Watergate scandal, Mr. Dean needs to be barred from pushing his books at any public venues including all University of California campuses and public libraries unless others who were involved in Watergate such as Mr. Haldeman, Mr. Ehrlichman, Mr. Liddy (and all the others) come out of the woodwork and expose their rendition of this highly charged era in our history. Otherwise, the annals of history will be tainted with Mr. Dean's self serving tainted rendition of American history.

Do these people understand the importance of contributing to our history and setting the record straight?

John Dean was trying to hide his wife's (Maureen "Mo") Dean from being envolved in a prostitution ring envolving the Democrats. He would have sold out his Mother. We shall remember John Dean.
