President Obama mouthed “the words” that the U.S. has not – for DECADES(!) – treated Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia war veterans well – then has next utterly failed to “walk the walk” through tangible follow-up demonstrably after the recent Veterans Day @ Arlington National Cemetary.

Senator Harry Reid (D- NV) stole[!!] $300,000,000 FROM THE U. S. Treasury TAXPAYERS’ MONEY to “pay-off” ONE New Orleans /Baton Rouge Senator in what has come to be called “The Louisiana Purchase” = ONE Democrat’s cloture VOTE on the ‘health-care reform’ bill – before Thanksgiving!

A bill on disabled war veterans’ allocations included provisions for “home care” on family members caring – AT HOME, for DISABLED COMBAT WAR Veterans KICKED-OUT of VA hospitals by the VA!!

The bill provisions passed UNANIMOUSLY in the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee [chaired by AKAKA on Hawaii, a disabled WW-II veteran]!

When the bill reached the Senate Floor, provisions had been changed by Senate Democrats’ leaders to cover ONLY Iraq & Afghanistan combat war veterans. FULL COVERAGE FOR ALL WAR VETERANS WAS DELETED!

A amendment was offered by Sen. TOM COBURN (R- Oklahoma) to restore the original intent of provisions IN COMMITTEE – covering ALL COMBAT WAR VETS – from combat-related disabilities – who are now being cared for by family members to their homes – after their VA hospital evictions.

Senator COBURN wanted to switch funds from “the U.N. peace-keeper operations” to pay for the ORIGINALLY INTENDED ‘FULL COVERAGE’ for disabled vets from all wars!

That Coburn amendment was opposed by the U.S. State Department!

The Coburn Amendment was defeated [2 to 1] and then “S. 1963″ Senate Resolution passed unanimously, with reduced veterans’ benefits coverage!

The Senator from Hawaii [AKAKA] is now regarded as “NO FRIEND TO VETERANS”! He still chairs Senate veterans affairs committee, for now!

Further = A “generational doney-brook” is brewing nation-wide, within all veterans’ service organizations!
